DENISE GREEN EXHIBITS AT HEIDE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
Denise Green: The Heide Collection is a retrospective spanning 40 years of painting and drawing by the Australian-born artist, who has lived in New York since 1969. The earliest works are drawn from the Whitney’s New Image Painting exhibition in 1978, which recognised a new generation of artists, whose work used the depiction of objects to respond to the pure abstraction of the 1960s.
The exhibition demonstrates Denise Green’s intuitive painting style, which gives expressive shape to ideas and emotional states that are often rooted in deeply personal experiences.
The artist will give a talk about the exhibition with curator Linda Michael at Heide on 9 April 2017, 2pm.
Denise Green: The Heide Collection runs from 8 April until 18 June 2017
